A spectacular century from allrounder Caleb Ziebell has ensured Northern Rivers Rock a place in the Plan B Regional Bash Twenty20 play-offs at the SCG this Sunday.

Ziebell blasted an unbeaten 128 in just 64 balls with seven fours and 10 Sixes as the Rock beat the Northern Inland Bolters on Sunday afternoon to top the Coffs Harbour Pool of the Sydney Sixers Conference.

Northern Rivers Rock will now meet Newcastle in the Sydney Sixers Conference Final.

The Sydney Thunder Conference Final will be contested between the Wagga Wagga Sloggers and the Orana Out laws with the winners of the Thunder and Sixers Conferences playing off for the Plan B Regional Bash title under lights at the SCG.

Northern Rivers Rock, Coffs Coast Chargers, Macquarie Coast Stingers and Northern Inland Bolters had won a game each going into Sunday afternoon’s last round.

However, Ziebell’s explosive batting enabled Northern Rivers to score an imposing 2/246 before restricting Northern Inland to 6/173, ensuring the Rock would go through to the final on run rate.

He and Justin Moore (96) had a 220-run partnership.

It has been a big week for Ziebell, who was named in NSW Country team for the Toyota Australian Country Cricket Championships in Western Australia next month.

Ziebell enabled Northern Rivers to finish ahead of Coffs Coast on run rate after both teams won two matches.

It was the first success for Coffs Coast Chargers in the tournament after their losing their first match in the old knockout format during the previous two years.

The Macquarie Coast Stingers also had their first success in the three-year history of the competition, beating Northern Rivers Rock on Sunday morning.
